Smart Start of Henderson County believes every child should have access to quality medical and dental health services; that every child be provided a safe environment in which to grow and learn.  In providing funds to those agencies, institutions, and organizations serving the health needs of young children and their families, Smart Start supports the following Health Activities:

HEALTH PROGRAMS

Preventive Dental Health
Funding provides dental hygiene education for children, child care providers, and parents through the Tooth Time curriculum. This activity also provides fluoride varnish application to high risk children. A dental screening program identifies children with critical dental needs and covers the cost of service when no other insurance is available.
